Sawadee Kup! (Hello) and Welcome to Pinto Thai Bistro (Tierrasanta)!

The term "Pinto" in Thailand means the name of the small lunch box often carried by children and workers.  These lunch boxes are often made of multiple compartments or layers.

We believe a Pinto serves as a good analogy to describe the balance and detail fundamental to Thai cooking.  Thai food is known for its balance of the five fundamental taste senses in each dish or the overall meal: hot (spicy), sour, sweet, salty, and (optional) bitter.
